I find inspiration in everyday objects

Sara grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and was an avid imagineer in her childhood, conjuring a world of fantasy, adventure, and exploration as she and her friends played outside.  So it’s not that surprising that all these years later as an adult she still loves to imagine and create wildly fun experiences for kids, and adults alike.

Sara is a Maker Educator and has been working in this field for the past 14 years. She previously managed the Marin Makerspace in Novato, CA. She is a graduate of Smith College where she earned a degree in computer science.

She is passionate about S.T.E.A.M education and providing people, especially girls, with equal access to technology.  Sara created and runs a girls program, called LunaTech, which introduces S.T.E.A.M to girls.

Favorite tools: needle, thread, xacto knife, laser cutter.

When not making, teaching, or tinkering in the Makerspace, Sara is usually in her kitchen baking experimental vegan delights, most notable are her cookies.  She shares all her kitchen exploits on Instagram.
